Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Mongstad Refinery website (www.mongstadrefinery.com), you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions (“T&C”). If you do not agree, you must refrain from using the Site. If you represent a business or entity, you confirm you have authority to bind them.

2. Website Use & Eligibility

• The Site provides information about Mongstad Refinery, its operations, sustainability efforts, and related services.
• Transactions (e.g., procurement, fuel sales, service contracts).
• You must be 18+ (or a legally authorized entity) to engage in transactions.
• You may only use the Site for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws (including Norwegian and EU regulations).
• Unauthorized commercial use, data scraping, or disruptive activities are prohibited.

3. Transactions & Purchases

3.1 Order Process

• Orders (e.g., diesel fuel, jet fuel, gasoline, LPG, LNG, petroleum coke, chemicals, services) are subject to availability and contractual terms.
• Sales of petroleum products are subject to Mongstad Refinery’s transaction procedures only.
• Prices are listed in NOK for domestic purchases and in USD  for international purchases. Taxes/duties are excluded unless stated.

3.2 Payment Terms

• Payment methods: Bank transfer, Documentary Letter of Credit (DLC) and Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC).
• Invoices must be paid within 72 hours (or as per negotiated terms) unless otherwise specified.

3.3 Delivery & Risk

• Delivery terms follow INCOTERMS 2020 (e.g., Loading Port: CIF – Mongstad | FOB – Rotterdam, Antwerp, Houston, Jurong, Fujairah) unless agreed otherwise.
• Title and risk of loss pass to the buyer upon delivery.

3.4 Cancellation & Refunds

• Orders may be canceled subject to written agreement.
• Refunds are made within 10 days of written request for refund.

4. Intellectual Property

• All content (text, logos, images, technical data, etc.) is owned by Equinor ASA which is the parent company of the Mongstad Refinery and protected under copyright and trademark laws.
•  Refinery specifications, Reproduction, distribution, or modification without prior written consent is prohibited.

5. Privacy Policy

• Personal/business data is processed per our Privacy Policy and GDPR/EEA regulations.
• Transaction data may be retained for legal, tax, or compliance purposes.

6. Disclaimer of Liability

• No warranties: Site content and transactional details are provided “as is.”
• Limitation of liability: Mongstad Refinery/Equinor is not liable for:
  • Indirect damages (e.g., lost profits).
  • Errors in pricing or product descriptions.
  • Third-party actions (e.g., banks, mandates & intermediaries).

7. External Links & Third Parties

• The Site may link to third-party websites; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

8. Force Majeure

• Neither party is liable for delays/cancellations due to:
  • Natural disasters.
  • Government actions.
  • Refinery operational disruptions.

9. Governing Law & Disputes

• These T&C are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes shall be resolved in Norwegian courts (or via arbitration if agreed).

10. Changes to Terms

• We reserve the right to modify these T&C at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.
